When I was about 7-8 years old, me & my family took a plane to see my grandparents for the first time.
That experience changed everything. Since then I knew that flying was my passion, exploring new places and new cultures is what keeps me alive. I would consider myself as the “Dora the explorer”, always searching for new exciting things to learn, to see and to experience. I am also very enthusiastic and don’t mind taking big risks. Sometimes not to have a plan B is the best option. Just follow your heart!
I have a BA degree in Travel & Tourism Marketing from University of Brighton. I love England and always wanted to go there! I lived and worked in United States, Thailand, Canary Islands, Spain and the UK for some years back. I travelled around Europe to places I have never been. Before coming to Sri Lanka, I lived in India for about 6 months and did my Yoga Teacher Training there. I loved it and can’t wait to go there again. I spend some time in Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia too. My curiosity to explore never stops. It’s like food I need to run this time machine.
I like history & culture. I am passionate about languages too. Born in former Soviet Union (Kazakhstan) I speak Russian as my mother tongue. When I was a teenager, my family immigrated to Germany where I learned German. I studied English so I could travel the world. Because I love the Spanish culture & music, I studied Spanish too.
I like animals and cannot imagine life without them. I love the nature, plants, trees and forests. The smell & the sound of the forest is amazing! My home is full of plants and green things. I like to do crafts like dream catchers, plant hangers, macramé and jewellery. I love art & music. It keeps me alive and moving.
Why Sri Lanka?
This country is so diverse, warm, green and unique. If you fell in love with something, you can’t let it go right? That’s how it feels. I am so grateful to be able to live and experience this island. It’s one of this treasures “Dora the explorer” carriers in her backpack.
